Wine and Your Health

Have you heard the latest news about wine and your health?  The latest research is showing that people who drink moderately - no more than two glasses of wine (or beer) a day - are much less likely to suffer from heart disease than people who don't drink at all!  Can you believe it? 

When I first heard this on NPR several days ago, my ears perked up.  Could drinking a couple glasses of wine a day actually be healthier than not drinking at all?  This research said yes!

The report went further and stated that moderate drinking combined with regular exercise helped lower your risk of heart disease even more!  And those who exercised without any moderate drinking had lower risks, but not as low as those who simply drank moderately.

This, as in so many things, leads us to the crucial philosophy that should guide so many of our actions:

All in moderation!

A Visit from the Goldwings!

I spoke with Jane at the winery just the other day, and she mentioned to me that we had a visit from some of our favorite guests at the winery, a Honda Goldwing motorcycle club from the front range.  What beautiful bikes these folk had!  And it's always a pleasure showing them around the winery.  It tickles me that groups like this make Mountain Spirit Winery a part of their touring experience.  We know they don't have to and wouldn't if they didn't want to. 

So, thanks for coming out!

And for anyone else who wants to come visit the winery, we are always giving tours and tastes.  We're located just west of Salida off of Hiway 50, and you can find our hours at the website http://www.mountainspiritwinery.com.  We love showing people around our full-scale production facility and pride ourselves on the fact that with our Colorado winery tour, the tour guides are the people who have actually helped us make the wine!  You won't find that in just any winery tour.
