“Wine is fit for man in a wonderful way provided that it is taken with good sense by the sick as well as the healthy”

We say it every year---how quickly the time passes. We hope your New Year so far has been a good one, and that 2011 will see an improvement in the economy which benefits everyone.
Over the next several posts, we'll be detailing some exciting news about things happening here at Mountain Spirit Winery. I know we haven't been posting very regularly, but that's about to change. Check back soon for more updates...
Sophie’s Wines
Our newest wine, “Sophie’s Red”, turned out to be a blockbuster---Meanwhile cellar manager Jane Hudon and associate Ed Lambert are hard at work helping create our newest Sophie’s selection, Sophie’s White. This will be a blend of Pinot Grigio, with a touch of non-oaked Chardonnay, and preliminary tastings have been truly spectacular. Terry and Mike spent time in Southern Italy in June, and made some effort to taste a large variety of Italian Pinot Grigio (a dirty job but……..). Trying to be as objective as possible, we feel our Pinot Grigio equals or surpasses any of those tasted while in Italy. Of course, you will be the final and best judge of that. We can’t wait to get this new selection to you, and hope it will be ready for the May-June Angels wine club shipments. Stay tuned!!
