Our Angel Blush Wine Wins "Best in World"

ANGEL BLUSH WINS “BEST IN WORLD”—PLUS THREE OTHER MEDALISTS

We were absolutely thrilled to learn our Angel Blush wine, long a favorite of our customers, was awarded a Gold Medal and chosen Best In Class of natural fruit wines in a huge wine competition involving virtually all of the “New World”—North America, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. 

Terry and I are so excited to also be receiving a trophy to honor this accomplishment!

In the same competition, our Blackberry/Cabernet Franc won a Silver Medal, with Cherry/Apple Blush and Raspberry wines each garnering Bronze Medals. 

We are especially proud of this distinction coming from the world’s fourth largest wine competition. It means we were competing against the best of wines from the great wine houses of California, Australia, and many other countries. 

We were told by the head of the wine competition that Angel Blush was vastly underpriced, and should be selling for at least $22.00 per bottle. It was a nice compliment, but Terry emphasized “we wouldn’t do that to our loyal customers”. So, enjoy this “bargain”---we appreciate all of you so much!

Ready for a special wine celebration?

Alright, Terry and I have returned from our vacation, and we're still so darn excited at our current showing at the New World International Wine Competition.  If you haven't heard the results from this huge wine competition, just read last week's post.  The highlight for us was our Angel Blush receiving the "Best in Class" award for blended wines.  So exciting!

To celebrate, Terry and I want to offer a special deal to anyone who has been thinking about joining our wine club.  For all new wine club members, we're offering a free - yes FREE!- bottle of this award winning Angel Blush wine with your free membership into Mountain Spirit Winery's Angel club when you make your first order of at least two or more bottles of wine.

Our Wine Awards!

I teased you last post with a bit of late breaking news from the New World International Wine Competition.  I want to get you the exciting details before Terry and I get out of town for a bit of relaxation and celebration.

The New World International Wine Competition is the fourth largest wine competition in the world.  It includes wines from almost all of Western Europe, Australia, South Africa, all of the United States (including the great winers of California), Chile, and many others (except France and Italy for some reason).  The competition is fierce and the wines are always outstanding.

Our BlackBerry/Cabernet Franc won a Silver Medal.  Our Cherry/Apple won a Bronze Medal as did our Raspberry wine.  These results would be exciting enough if it weren't for one more wine receiving some outstanding honors at this prestigious competition.

Not only did Mountain Spirit Winery's Angel Blush win a Gold Medal, it also was named Best of Varietal and, most importantly, Best of Class!  In case you didn't know, when a wine wins Best of Class in a competition of this size competing against world class wineries, that wine can safely be considered one of the best wines...in the world!

We're all so excited about this.  Terry and I have always felt that our Angel Blush was a superb wine.  So many of our loyal customers repeatedly confirm this with their kind words and repeat orders.  It's just so nice to get this sort of confirmation from a wine competition of this caliber.

Mountain Spirit Winery's Amazing Showing at the New World International Wine Competition

That title's really just a tease since I won't be revealing exactly how well our wines did. 

Not just yet...  Terry and I are working on an exclusive wine special to celebrate our current slate of awards we just received at this competition, one of the biggest wine competitions in the world. 

How does free wine sound to you?

I can't think of a better way to celebrate one of our wines receiving a gold medal as well as being named "Best in Class" - which is really just a smooth way of saying we've got one of the best wines in the world!

Anyone want to guess which wine I'm talking about?

I'll be posting more information on Mountain Spirit Winery's results in this international wine competition as well as more details about our celebratory wine special.  You're going to want to keep on top of this one because once we release this special, it won't last long!

Award Winning Wines at Mountain Spirit Winery

Colossal Medal Year for Mountain Spirit Winery

We are so fortunate and grateful to have garnered eight medals in major national and international wine competitions in 2007. Our Raspberry Dessert Wine and Riesling/Chardonnay took home Silver medals in the fourth largest wine competition in the world.  Bronze medals were awarded our 2006 Merlot/Raspberry, ’05 Cabernet Sauvignon, ’05 Duet, ’05 Riesling/Chardonnay, and ’04 Chardonnay. 

We owe much of this success to our great winemaking team, Manager Karl Hinther, and Cellar Assistants Tom Zienkiewicz and Jane Hudon.  When you take a personal tour of the winery one or more of these great production specialists will be guiding your tour. 

 

And every time you open a bottle of Mountain Spirit Wine, you are experiencing thousands of hours of diligent and careful work by this crew.  Without them, our wine wouldn't be where it is today!

Five New Medals for Mountain Spirit Winery!

Since our last update we are pleased to report that five of Mountain Spirit Winery’s wines have achieved recognition from some very prestigious wine competitions.  Our Raspberry Dessert Wine won a Silver Medal, and the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon captured a Bronze at the New World International Wine Competition, the fourth largest wine competition in the world!

As if that weren’t enough, Mountain Spirit Winery's 2005 Riesling/Chardonnay, 2005 Duet, and 2004 Chardonnay (still unreleased) won a Bronze at the invitation-only Jefferson Cup Competition, felt by many to be the Olympics of American wine competitions.  In both of these contests we were competing against the best wineries in the world, including all the famous California wineries.
